Metal Fencing

Elk Grove iron fence

Metal fencing and gates have been used over the years because of their durability and function. Metal fencing can be used as both a protective fencing solution, as well as a perimeter fencing solution to keep children, pets, and outsiders from coming out or into your lawn. Metal fencing is both versatile and operational in doing both, while still providing access to sunlight and protection, where needed.

Metal Fencing Pros

Some of the obvious metal fencing pros include its longevity, appearance, and maintenance. Metal fencing doesn’t succumb to many outdoor elements and can maintain its appearance over time with little upkeep. Rust is inevitable with metal fencing as it is exposed to direct sunlight and water, but this can easily be removed with occasional cleaning or repainting. Metal also comes in a variety of strengths and shapes that make it simpler for customers to choose exactly what they want. Ranging from hollowed steel tubes, solid steel, and even wrought iron, each of these options provides clients with stability and security.

Tubular Steel

Tubular steel fencing is that that is built using metal which has been formed into a hallowed, tube-like pole, implanted vertically into the ground. Attached horizontally, is the inner fencing which is customizable. Tubular steel can consist of numerous poles lined together and mounted with a horizontal brace, or it can consist of several steel tubes that serve as fence posts for the interior fencing. This design is often seen in fencing types like a wire fence, dog fence, or chain link fence.

Solid Steel

In other cases, solid steel is also used to provide more security and strength to the fence itself. Solid steel is stronger and can hold itself against most outdoor elements such as rainstorms or snowstorms. Solid steel fences are for those that want the ultimate level of security in their yard when opting for a metal fence. Wire fencing also works in conjunction with solid steel for maximum security, as the solid steelworks as the fence post for such materials.

Wrought Iron

Wrought iron is another popular choice for metal fencing, mostly because of its strength and appearance. Wrought iron can be painted and formed into designs that complement the exterior of your home. Since wrought iron can be rolled and manipulated before installation, customers prefer it when given the option versus standard metal. It is solid and heavy but is installed for railings, fences, gates, and even as garden fences sometimes because of its aesthetic. Wrought iron has the ability to rust over time like standard metal but can be painted and cleaned with ease. If you are considering wrought iron for a gate or fence, you should be comfortable with the amount of visibility that wrought iron fences provide. Since the posts are often separated between one another, those on the outside will be able to see through the fencing, but will not be able to access it, given the strength of the product.
